There are many good burger options in the Edmond/OKC area — but it can be difficult to choose just one. That is why we have compiled a list of cheeseburger places, including their location and our critiques. For each one, we ordered the classic cheeseburger on the menu. Here are our thoughts.
Patty Wagon

Patty Wagon is located on N. May Ave. in OKC, so it’s a bit of a drive, but definitely worth it. Their cheeseburger includes a patty made from 100% Angus grass-fed beef and a toasted organic buttery bun. Toppings include lettuce, tomato, onions, bacon and American cheese.
The burger was $10.79, which was a bit pricey, but we could taste the quality. The bun tasted homemade and sweet, which added a nice flavor to the burger. The patty itself was very juicy and obviously homemade as well. They also use beef from local ranching families, which adds a fresh taste and supports the local community. This was one of our favorite burgers, so we’re giving it a 10/10.
Flatire

Flatire is located on Ayers near UCO. The classic cheeseburger comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and Flatire Burger sauce and retails for $7.99. When the server brought the burger to our table, it was steaming and clearly cooked to order.
The patty of the burger was really thick, and it was cooked all the way through, which is uncommon for thicker hamburgers. This was a positive for us, though, because it was still juicy. The sauce was really good and complemented the burger nicely, giving it extra flavor. We got the white bun, which got slightly soggy with the sauce, but it wasn’t anything that bothered us too much. The only real problem was the serving size was a bit too large for us. However, considering the price, it was a good deal. We are giving this burger a 9/10.
Pattie’s Burgers and Roast Beef

Pattie’s is located on E. 2nd Street in the Shoppes at Edmond University. It’s a small woman-owned business. Pattie’s Old Fashioned Burger includes Pattie sauce, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato and American cheese, all on a brioche bun. It’s $11, but if the price seems steep, they have a $7 burger and fries deal on Wednesdays.
The bun was toasted to perfection, and the patty was moist and thick. The bun itself was coated with butter, which was unique and delightful. The Pattie sauce was distributed evenly on both sides of the bun, sandwiching the patty. It was slightly heavy on mayonnaise, but not bad. In comparison to the other burgers, this one was a bit bland. Although it was made well, the flavor was not all there. Still, this is a good, classic burger, so it gets an 8/10.
Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Store

Braum’s is a famous ice cream store that originated in Oklahoma and has since become a staple for any Okie. And apart from their ice cream, they also offer burgers. Braums has quite a few locations around town—two of them being on Broadway and Danforth. They have different types of burgers to choose from, or you can customize your own.
The Braum’s combo comes with a burger that has American cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and your choice of sauce, as well as a side of fries and a drink. The combo comes out to approximately $9.89, which is a plus considering it’s a full meal. This is a good option if you are craving a burger but don’t have time to go to a restaurant. Unfortunately, none of that changes the fact that the patty is thin and a little dry, and the cheese is not fully melted; therefore, we are giving it a 7/10.
Five Guys

Five Guys is located on 2nd Street and claims their burger is special due to the focus on fresh ingredients. A cheeseburger with pickles, sauce, lettuce and tomato totals to a whopping $14.63.
It is a restaurant with no drive-thru, so if you want to sit inside to eat, this is a good option. Their pricing is not the cheapest, however, so if you are looking for a frugal burger, this is not the one for you. The burger was very tasty…until we remembered the price. So, we rate it an 8/10.
Sonic

Sonic has multiple locations around town. The store on Thomas is convenient for a quick, inexpensive lunch. The original cheeseburger is $6.33 and includes pickles, lettuce and tomato.
This is one of the quickest places to get a burger, and they are surprisingly delicious. They are very flavorful and quite juicy. This is your best option if you want something tasty, fast and cheap. Even though the price is right, it is not the best sandwich out there, but it’s a solid choice for lunch. This burger gets a 7.5/10.
Our top choice is Patty Wagon. If you haven’t tried it, check them out. However, all of these burgers are solid options. If you have a favorite burger spot, let us know what you recommend in the comments.
We wish you luck on your burger feasting!
