Nadia Lamb is a senior at Edmond North.
You may have seen Nadia around school – specifically onstage. Nadia played the role of Don John in North’s production of “Much Ado About Nothing” last fall and will also be playing Jack’s Mom in the upcoming spring musical, “Into the Woods”.
“I’ve known since I was pretty young that (acting) is what I want to do with the rest of my life. I like getting the opportunity to step into someone’s life that isn’t my own,” said Nadia.
Acting gives Nadia a unique outlook on the world. They want to pursue acting professionally and has been accepted into the University of Oklahoma to study theatre in the fall.
Nadia has had to work hard to achieve this step in their life. They have been busier this year balancing all their activities.
“I decided to lock in only this year with AP and concurrent courses, and this has meant a lot of extra work, on top of theatre, having a job and getting prepped for college.”
Nadia feels, with the workload they have now, it
will be extremely rewarding when they graduate.
“I have made myself tremendously busy this year, so I am more than ready to feel that accomplishment of having it all completed,” they reflect.
It might be easy to believe that Nadia has always had everything together, but they have had their fair share of struggles at home.
“Pretty much all of my life, I’ve had to deal with a very dysfunctional household.
My parents have both at one point struggled with addiction.”
Nadia admires their mom’s resilience and strength as she and their dad are now on a journey of sobriety. Even though Nadia has been through a lot, they still lead a full life and have many important relationships that have helped them be resilient. They are also hopeful for a bright future ahead.
“I…like the idea of being able to start fresh in a way. It’ll be bittersweet leaving behind so many people I’ve seen around since I was maybe 10, but it’ll be super cool getting to move on to something new and discovering what the future has in store for me. It’s honestly just the prospect of graduation being the beginning of the rest of my life that is pushing me to the finish line now.”
Nadia will be missed by students and teachers here at North, be sure to wave to them in the hallway.

This is awesome! Being able to hear stories from all of North’s groups helps us better understand those who have different outlooks and experiences. Being able to learn from stories like Nadia’s who we may not have known throughout high school, is very valuable. I think Husky Humans helps North’s student body become more connected by getting to read about other pretty cool people, such as Nadia, which could lead to finding someone you have lots of similarities with. You could also find new interests and hobbies by reading about what other students enjoy doing in their free time. I hope Husky Humans continues into next year’s school year!
