Happy Holidays Huskies! With the holiday break fast approaching, many are looking forward to holiday surprises.
Thankfully, The Pawprint staff has been very good this year, so we can all expect gifts and not coal in our stockings.
Not sure what to put on your list? Our writers have compiled a wish list of lit gift ideas for inspiration.
The perfect gift: gift cards

Starting off strong with yours truly—Staff Writer Sarah. For my Christmas gift, I am asking for gift cards to clothing stores. I love winter clothes more than any other season, so I like to shop the most during this time. I am asking for $50 to $100 gift cards for stores like Hollister, Aerie, Aeropostale and Pink. As I get older, it’s more fun to shop for myself, and the after-holiday sales allow me to get more with my gift card. This is why I am asking for gift cards instead of the clothes themselves.
Sandals from Santa

Assistant Editor Levi is asking for some new kicks—specifically the Birkenstock Kyoto Clogs. The $150 shoes are something comfortable for his feet for the long days of school. He likes the openness of the shoes because they will give a nice breeze when he wears them barefoot in warmer weather, and he can still stay cozy wearing them with socks in the winter.
Cozied up for Christmas

This Christmas, Staff Writer Savannah is asking for the viral $130 Parke mockneck in the color green. She’s been wanting one for about three months now. They are extremely chic, and also in high demand because every girl in the school wants one. Savannah hopes it isn’t sold out, since with every drop, they are gone in seconds.
‘Ho Ho Hoedown’ with Elise

Staff Writer Elise was very specific with her Christmas wish—she is asking for alligator skin Oklahoma University boots that retail anywhere from $499-599. She wants these to wear at school and at events because she thinks they look “majestic.” She has always wanted alligator boots, and with these, she can also show her love and support of the Sooners.
A camera to make Holly—jolly

Senior Editor Holly wants a digital camera—specifically, the Vivitar Camera. It’s only $30 and is a perfect tool for Holly to capture memories during her senior year. Being able to have a camera filled with little moments from her last year of high school is exactly what Holly wants to bring with her to college.
Capturing the Christmas spirit

Like Holly, Staff Writer Marlia wants to preserve memories with photos. She wants an Instax printer that runs for $116.95. She wants to be able to print out photos to put up on her wall to stare at longingly as she ponders where the time has gone. Marlia would also appreciate it if she found Apple AirPods Gen 4 underneath her tree.
Sylvia wants to own Jimmy Fallon

Staff Writer Sylvia wants a life-sized cardboard cutout of Jimmy Fallon for the empty corner of her room. The price of the cutout is a whopping $84.97. She wants this valuable artifact because what teenage girl wouldn’t want to have Jimmy Fallon watch her while she sleeps?
Starting the day right

Sponsor Ms. Austin wants a $169.99 smart alarm clock that will wake her up with the sun (or imitate it). Maybe she’ll be less strict if she wakes up in a good mood… For the sake of her students, let’s hope Santa comes in clutch this year.
Snug slippers

Staff Writer Claire wants Ugg slippers in the regular shade of brown. They cost $120, but that price is worth it to stay warm and fashionable during the winter. Uggs are also very versatile, so Claire can wear them at home, at school and everywhere in between. She would also be thrilled to see a perfume set from Phlur under her tree.
A pound of chocolate a day keeps the sadness away

Our amazingly talented Cartoon Artist and Staff Writer Zoey wants a five-pound $49.99 Hershey’s chocolate bar. I suggested he should nibble on it little by little like a chipmunk; if he can eat two ounces of chocolate per day, it should last him until February. However, he plans on consuming the entire thing in approximately four days.
Cultured cuisine

Staff Writer Reese wants a monthly curated box of international snacks from the company Universal Yums. She is hoping to get a yearly subscription which costs $324. She enjoys trying new foods, especially international ones, and a subscription for the whole year will be a gift that keeps on giving through 2026.
The greatest gift
Even though this blog is focused on stuff we all want, it’s important to acknowledge that the holidays are about faith, community and love. Make sure to enjoy the gift of time with your family and friends and not get too caught up in what you get or don’t get.
