Everyone loves a good sweet treat, whether it’s ice cream, cookies or maybe just a fun little drink. But you can’t lie— there’s a certain time where a sweet treat just hits the hardest, and that’s at night. There is just something more delicious about getting in your car in your pajamas and going to hunt the great city of Edmond for a tasty bite. The problem with a 10pm craving is you may think nothing is open in our bustling metropolis.
Fortunately for you, I have compiled a list of 5 places you can go to satisfy that sweet tooth.
#1- Insomnia Cookies, 11am to 1-3am
Insomnia is the name of the place, so that means it’s going to be open late. Insomnia Cookies is open until 3am on weekends and 1am on weekdays. They have a rotating cookie menu featuring a weekly selection of delicious cookies. They also have ice cream you can get by the scoop or in a yummy ice cream cookie sandwich. Insomnia Cookies has many versatile options that are all sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
#2- Andy’s Frozen Custard, 11am to 11-11:30pm
Andy’s Frozen Custard has a wide menu of custard, sundaes, milkshakes or concretes. They have many toppings, such as candies or syrups, and they even have the occasional seasonal treat. Right now they have an amazing cookie butter sundae that will definitely hit the spot on that late night treat stop. Their custards are deliciously smooth and are perfect to eat in your pajamas.
#3- Sonic Drive-In, 6am to 11pm-12am
An Oklahoman go-to is Sonic Drive-In for a whole meal, but they also have an amazingly sweet selection of treats. Depending on the location, some Sonics are open till 11pm, but if you’re lucky, you can find one open until midnight. When most people think of Sonic, they think of a burger, but don’t sleep on their amazing dessert menu. You can get ice cream sundaes, slushies or one of their new dirty sodas (any of their sodas with coconut cream and lime mixed in). You may even find one of your classmates working there!
#4- Dirty Dough, 10am to 11pm
Dirty Dough is a newer addition to the Edmond area featuring a unique spin on cookies. They make various soft baked cookies that are filled with either cookie dough or other delicious fillings. Their menu rotates weekly, and they also have ice cream. You can get any of their filled cookies mixed into a milkshake for a cold treat. This one is a great option if you’re wanting to try something new.
#5- Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy, 6am to 10:45pm
Another Oklahoma classic, Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy, is the perfect place to go if you need to grab a quick delicacy. Braum’s has many flavors of their delicious ice cream that you can get as a milkshake, sundae, malt or even just a scoop. Even though this one may not be open as late as the others on this list, it is still a great option, and trust me Braums workers are not going to judge you. You could roll in, robe and slippers on, and they would still make your ice cream without any side-eyes.
