Thansi Garikipati, a junior here at North, got a perfect ACT score this summer.
The average ACT score for Oklahoma is 17.8, while the highest someone can achieve is 36. All Juniors in Oklahoma are meant to take the ACT which contributes to such a low collective score; however, the national average is 19.8.
Garikipati advises that if you want to improve your own ACT score or prepare for your first take it is important to “master the basics, and then from there, practice and review.”
To study for the ACT she took a practice test every day and would grade it herself for two weeks straight. In addition, she has been taking AP classes such as Calculus and World History.
After high school, Garikipati plans on getting a degree in molecular biology as well as a dual MD and PhD program.
