Harper Holmberg is a Senior at Edmond North.
When her mother died last year, she thought her life was over. Her grades went down, and depression formed.
Over time she experienced healing by writing poetry. She made a poetry TikTok account where she processed her feelings, and she gained many followers that felt moved by her writing. Through her poetry, she helped others mental health by allowing them to realize they weren’t alone in their grief.
She was impacted the most by her dad: “he’s the strongest person I know.” He always took initiative in raising her, never leaving her side. Since she felt supported by her dad, she learned to see the beauty in life with new eyes.
After her moms passing, she felt like she had to turn her life around; she worked hard to make her life better. She worked on her grades, channeled her grief into poetry, and now lives the best life possible. She said “the choices have been hard, but the outcome has been amazing.”
Thank you, Harper, for showing us that even after dealing with hard things, you can still find the beauty in life.
