Last Saturday, StuCo held its annual rock music night, Northstock, with several bands and solo performers from the student body working to give the crowd an incredible night of powerful vocals, guitar solos and bass riffs.
Students had the pleasure of witnessing several talented bands and performers; from Maira Arshad’s stunning rendition of “All of Me” to Gianna Spears’ rhythmic take on “Pink + White,” the crowd kept a cool rhythm between the solo acts and the more energetic sets of the metal bands, Bliss and Sisyphus.
This year, there were two returning groups—the popular My Childhood Mixtape and the reigning champs, The Underdogs—playing covers such as Paramore’s “Still Into You” or “Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes. The energy was high throughout the event, and as the counting of money closed, it was down to these two bands to steal the title.
Unsurprisingly, The Underdogs swept with their third consecutive win!
At the end of the night, North’s metalhead student body raised thousands of dollars for this year’s BALTO recipient, Wings, making it one of the most successful Northstocks yet.
