Are you broke and have no drip?
We get it, so our editors (us) took to every thrift store in town to see how stylish we could get for a budget.
What is Thrifting?
Thrifting is a form of shopping on the cheap. Getting second-hand clothes from different stores all over is a great way to find new clothes you wouldn’t find anywhere else. No matter who you are or what you wear, there’s something for everyone. These are all the best places to thrift in Edmond.
Goodwill
Placed all over town, Goodwill is a non-profit career aid organization that hosts thrift stores to gain revenue. They contain clothes for all sizes and types of people, children included. They even have furniture, books, accessories, and household supplies. Gitashri and I always find great clothes together when we go. It’s a very versatile store and our top pick for sure. It’s a cheap place to shop, and it can provide vintage collections if you hunt them down. Just the other day, a vintage Old Navy blazer was hanging in their men’s section. So chic! For those shopping enthusiasts and vintage hunters, Goodwill is the place to visit.
EARC
The Employment And Resident Center is a thrift store in central Edmond with amazingly low prices and a great selection of all kinds of items. We’ve gotten Nike sweatshirts, Lulus, and Reeboks before. It’s a pretty nice and quaint store to check out before 5 p.m. when they close.
Uptown Cheapskate
Thrifting made easy. If you want cute and stylish clothes and brand named bags like Kate Spade and Louis Vuitton then this is the place for you! With a huge collection of high-end brands for a low price, it can be difficult to choose your favorite ones. This is a great place for the sporty teens as well since they have a whole Lululemon collection. Uptown Cheapskate also accepts clothes that look new or are in fair condition for money or store credit. So if you want to clean out your closet and earn some cash, this place is for you.
Plato’s Closet
Located just outside of town, Plato’s Closet is another consignment store with so much to offer. They have dresses, shoes, jackets, and literally everything else. We always find really high quality goods here whenever we’re around. You can sell your clothes here too if you need some extra cash. This is essentially the same as other consignment stores but like more local (the store is cramped).
